William Lapple, O.D.

Dr. Lapple graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry and is in private practice in LeRoy, New York a rural community in Genesee County. He owns the primary eye care facility, which provides a full range of services from a traditional optical dispensary, contact lens care to the co-management of ophthalmic surgery. He is presently on staff at the Veterans Administration Facility in Batavia. In addition to private practice, he has performed many contact lens research projects and has lectured extensively on the microbiologic efficacy of contact lens solutions, utilizing his undergraduate degree in microbiology, also from Ohio State. Dr. Lapple consults with a multi-disciplined Individual Practice Association, which contracts and provides patient care to local HMO’s in Rochester as well represents optometry on the credentialing committee. This experience has enabled him to lecture nationally and he has authored numerous articles on how optometry has been impacted by managed care. Dr. Lapple is an administrator for the Vision Source Network of Optometrists. Dr. Lapple is past president of the New York State Optometric Association and was awarded the 2007 Optometrist of the Year by the NYSOA and the Fredric A. Woll Award in 2011.
